"SEE THE FILM. TASTE THE COFFEE. RAISE THE ISSUES!" Moving documentary being shown at the Dukes Cinema 29th & 30th June. Introduced and co-hosted by Ian Steel, Master Roaster & Proprietor of J. Atkinson & Co. and special guest Simon Wakefield.
Multinational coffee companies now rule our town centres and dominate an industry worth over $80 billion, making coffee the most valuable trading commodity in the world after oil, but while we pay big prices for our cappuccinos, the price paid to coffee farmers remains so low that many have been forced to abandon their fields. This compelling documentary follows Tadesse Meskela, a man on a mission to save his coffee farmers from bankruptcy.
The showing of this film is being co-hosted by The Dukes Playhouse and J. Atkinson & Co. of Lancaster. Master Roaster and Proprietor Ian Steel will introduce the film and talk about how we play our part in helping Tadesse Meskela. Read more and check show time details on the Dukes Playhouse website.
